KATRINA WEBB NEWSLETTER SEPTEMBER 2009
|
|
Ciao from the beautiful coast of Croatia! Currently I am travelling and working with my family in Europe, which has been very enjoyable especially as it is Summer. At the same time it has been a different experience travelling with our 20 month old boy Sebastian, but one in which I thoroughly recommend.
Challenges are always something I have enjoyed and thrived on. They enable us a chance to learn from a new experience whether its in our personal life or in our work. The great surprise with challenges is when you achieve an amazing and unexpected outcome.
For example a few weeks ago we visited good friends in Poland. They managed to find the most incredible 15th century church in a town called Klemzig where my ancestors prayed one last time before immigrating to Australia in 1846 due to religious persecution.
One website I have found very useful for booking private apartments whilst travelling, which was

recommended to me by two travelling colleagues, is www.homelidays.com.
Or for something a little different you can become a member of www.homeexchange.com just like the movie Holiday starring Cameron Diaz and Kate Winslett. If you are keen to travel and maybe explore work opportunities overseas you can exchange your home with other keen travellers. It is a very economical and a great way to experience the life of a local.

OCTOBER IS OCSOBER!
Speaking of challenges... looking for a new challenge in October. A challenge that is good for your health and at the same time helping others? If your answer is yes, then join me, as an ambassador, and try Ocsober.
What is Ocsober?
Ocsober is a month long campaign where adults are asked to “cut out” alcohol for the month of October and, in so doing, secure sponsorship from family, friends and work colleagues. People who take up the challenge of going alcohol free will be Ocsober Legends.
As an Ocsober Legend you will not only feel better, you will have been encouraged and supported in your efforts by your employer, work colleagues, family and friends through sponsorships. Money raised through sponsorship goes to providing more children vital health and drug education in schools.
